BRIDGES

Dental Bridges

When it comes to replacing missing teeth, you have several options, including implants, bridges, or dentures.  Each tooth replacement option has its benefits and trade-offs, but in general, implants are the best option for tooth replacement since they help protect you from bone loss and do not require removal of tooth structure on the adjacent teeth. Schedule an appointment to discuss whether implants, bridges, or dentures would be right for you.

In instances where an implant is not the best option for tooth replacement, a bridge may be discussed.  A bridge is a single unit usually attached to two teeth on each side of the space where a tooth is missing. An artificial tooth attached in the middle of the bridge fills in the gap where the missing tooth was.

After the teeth are prepared by the dentist, a very accurate intra oral scan or impression is taken to allow fabrication of the bridge. The bridge is then cemented onto the prepared surface of the teeth, replacing the missing tooth.
