SEALANTS

Sealants are an effective way to prevent tooth decay (cavities) in the most susceptible areas of your teeth. The naturally forming pits and grooves in your teeth often trap food and can be difficult to clean with a toothbrush and toothpaste.

A sealant is a plastic material which is bonded to the pits and grooves of your teeth so that food and bacteria may never reach them. They are generally applied to permanent posterior (molars and premolars) in children. They are also useful for adults in some situations.
